Sophie May Victoria Gray is a disabled artist from South Shields who has spent the last 10 years working with polymer clay; from small charms being made in her bedroom to the larger pieces she makes now.

After a difficult period of time and losing the use of her hands, she went through physiotherapy in order to return to her happy place of art. 

‘Misophonia’ explores not only the process of creating the work ‘White Noise’ on the central wall in this exhibition, but also the experience of being surrounded by noise on a daily basis as an autistic artist - presenting the overwhelm of noise as a physical, visceral, and messy wall of sound.
